Online Veterinary Consultation

Online Veterinary Consultation

Have you ever used google to search for a specific problem for your pet and can’t find what you are looking for? Ever had a question regarding your pet’s health but can’t get into the vet’s office or your veterinarian is out of town? Have a simple health related question but didn’t want to pay $40-50 for an office visit just to find out the answer? If you answered yes to any of the above questions then an online veterinary consultation service may be for you.

This service is being implemented to help pet owners like you who may have more questions than an internet search or website can provide. So what makes this service better than using a search engine or looking up information on a website? It gives you the opportunity to interact directly with a veterinarian who has a vast experience with surgery, medicine, and behavioral problems. Also who has access to many resources that are not available to the general public.

Did you receive bloodwork or other diagnostic results that you don’t completely understand? Did your veterinarian use medical jargon that you didn’t understand well? Do you have questions about side effects of medications received or contraindications with other meds? An online veterinary consultation can help.

A veterinary consult would include the opportunity to communicate with a veterinarian by either email, instant messaging, or video chat.

  1. I don’t own any pets but I am glad that there is an online veterinary consult that would include the opportunity to communicate with a veterinarian by either email, instant messaging, or video chat. I will definitely share with my friends who have pets.

  2. I love this concept! Pets are like family and sometimes we just have a question that no one can answer without a consultation. I’m glad that this type of service exist. Thank you for sharing!

  3. My dog just had an operation and she was bleeding after coming home, I got worried but I didn’t have anyone to ask how much bleeding was ok and how much I should worry and go to the vet again, this would have made a big difference!

  4. This is definitely a useful tool to have when it comes to being a pet owner. We adopted two new cats last year and one has a lot of health issues. It would be nice to be able to get advice from the comfort of home (especially since this cat gets very carsick).

  5. I think this is a brilliant idea, it will do well as an app (generate new leads). As most people are on their cell phone and it is so much easier to give a quick conversation or over the phone consultation and charge a minor fee. This kind of consultation will give empathy to pet lovers when they need it.

  6. Right now, we don’t have any animals other than fish. My kids have been begging for a pet, but I would need to get another job outside of blogging because pets are costly.

  7. You know, I was wondering how long it would take before vet medicine started doing this the way human medicine is doing it now. I think this is great fro minor issues. It would certainly save a lot of stress on the dogs.

  8. I have had something where they tried to consult like that. Cost a bit more than I would have expected. The only thing I would have a hard time with that is not feeling like I would be asking all the right questions if I were not face to face. But it does sound like a useful tool.

  9. I’ll admit that I’ve looked at google when wondering about my pets. Its definitely better to speak to someone than go wild with your imagination after looking at google. And my dog hates the vet, and the cats hate going in their crates. So if I can skip a vet visit if I don’t have to go would be great.

  10. Sometimes it would be nice to be able to see if your pet warrants a vet visit so I love the idea of the online consultation. I think this would be a great advantage to have when in doubt of what to do.

  11. Very cool idea – some pets really hate going to the vet too and taking them there for something minor can be more stressful than anything else!

  12. This is awesome news! It would be so nice to be able to ask a professional about some issues we notice with our pets. I dislike taking my dog to the vet and wait for an hour or so before we get called in. I worry about my dog contracting some kind of disease from the other pets that are in the same waiting area with us.

  13. I’ve used something similar for me. I love that there is something like this for our pets now. Sometimes you really don’t need to make an office visit, you just have a simple question but need it answered by the vet. Nice!

  14. I love your site and plan to share it on multiple platforms! We love our pets and getting good information about them is important. There is telemedicine for people so you need to a catchy name as well: Perhaps TelePeticine!!

  15. Online Veterinary Consultation is a brilliant idea. Wow this will come in handy. We have a couple of pets, and not always possible to get to our vet, especially for minor things.

  16. This is cool to use that would help to save you time and gas money + consultation fee, especially for minor cases. Hopefully more vets would offer this services.

  17. This is such a great and easy concept! This is probably so helpful to those that are having issues during after hours of their usual clinics. Definitely something I’ll have to keep in mind for our furry friends. Thanks for sharing!
